Clare has painted prolifically since completing her Fine Art degree at the University of Brighton in 1998.
She has exhibited locally, in the prestigious Mall Galleries in London, and in Australia.
Clare's passion is nature, and she usually works in situ to preserve the sense of aliveness of the subject matter. The exaggerated colours of her work brings texture, contrast and vitality to what she sees in a lyrical and poetic way.
Between 2001 and 2003 Clare travelled to Australia, New Zealand and Thailand - encountering a rich and exotic landscape to produce intensely vivid paintings.
Over the last few years the intense colours have been a major part of her work - taking the wild poppy for a dance in a sea of darkness and giving the sunrise a blast of intoxicating light and colour.
Recently Clare's biggest change and challenge was to paint the moon inspired from seeing its fullness from her studio and exploring what is the darkness around it?.. the paintings discovered an aura of light giving a mood to the moon herself.
